6】: However, he had at last been allowed to send a fax in which heinformed the editor that the he had been arrested while counting the 1,084steps leading to the fifteen-foot wall which surrounded the president's
  palace.
上述例句中请注意如下部分——the 1,084 stepsleading to the fifteen-foot wall which surrounded the president's palace中的 leading to the fifteen-foot wall是steps的定语,which surrounded the president's palace是wall的定语。 即——the 1,084 steps which led to the fifteen-foot wall which surroundedthe president's palace.
